Certificate in Supervision The twelve credit Certificate in Supervision offered through Kean Online is designed to prepare candidates for certification as a supervisor. The eighteen to thirty credit Principal Certification offered through Kean Online is designed to prepare candidates for certification as a principal. Students who complete the program will be eligible to receive the respective Certificates of Eligibility (CE). Full certification for supervisors and principals is granted by the State after successful completion of a mentoring program and the State-approved examination(s). Please see the NJ Department of Education for specific requirements to become state certified. This program is in compliance with the requirements of the New Jersey State Department of Education code. Students who complete the program are educational leaders who have the knowledge and ability to promote the success of all students by: Facilitating the development, articulation, implementation, and stewardship of a school or district vision oflearning supported by the school community. Managing the organization, operations, and resources in a way that promotes a safe, efficient, and effective learning environment Collaborating with families and other community members, responding to diverse community interests and needs, and mobilizing community resources. The program is designed for students who possess a Master’s Degree, are interested in the field of educational leadership, and wish to receive certification that assures they can use digital technology to supplementt heir roles as leaders. Students will gain the fundamental foundations of utilizing technology within specific content areas. Students will acquire the skill needed to implement technology. The objective of the digital leadership program is to: •Integrate a variety of educational technology tools on various levels of the SAMR and TPACK model to support content area instruction. •Evaluate the evolution of technology from the 1980’s to the present and its relevance towards content area instruction. • Compare and contrast how instructional technology relates to four different formal evaluation models. • Evaluate the existing use of instructional technology in the classroom during formative and summative evaluations. • Create a project that incorporates 21st century content area skill sets (from the teacher perspective). • Evaluate a project that ntegrates 21st century concepts into a lesson or unit of study (from the administrative lens). • Utilize the platform of digital technology to enhance administrativeeffectiveness. • Analyze 21st centuryimplementation andprepare professionaldevelopmentrecommendations basedupon student and teacher data.
