The essence of Management is how to best utilize the various (human, physical, financial, and intangible) resources in order to implement effective strategies that capitalize on opportunities and internal strengths while defending against threats.

The Management program at Kean Online seeks to provide a student-centered learning environment, designed to support the intellectual, cultural, and personal growth of our students. Our primary objective is to prepare students for leadership roles in local, national, and global organizations by applying technical, human, conceptual, and strategic skills.

  • Human Resources Students can anticipate positions that will include Human Resource Manager, Compensation and Benefit Specialist, Business Consultants, Training Specialists, Recruiting Manager, Counselor, Negotiation Specialist, Labor Relation Specialist.

Business Management Courses

With the premise that people are the foundation for an organization’s competitive advantage, this course seeks to explain, control, and predict individual, interpersonal, and organizational actions. Students will focus on strategic aspects of human behavior, managerial applications of knowledge and skills of human capital. You will gain perspectives of organizational behavior required in the new forms of organization, examine new challenges contemporary organizations face and learn to identify emerging behavioral issues from the individual human resources to organizational levels with the goal of high performing organizations.

This course empowers students to acquire the knowledge, skills, and resources to be an entrepreneur, even in a challenging economic environment. This course will cover topics including advantages and disadvantages of entrepreneurship, identification of ideas for new start-up opportunities, forms of business ownership and franchising, strategic management of financial and human resources, marketing and production plans, and other topics. Students will develop new business plans as a basis for launching new ventures and gain the tools to implement their plans.

In today’s economy, efficiency is the difference between success and failure. Operations Management deals with making production and service businesses more efficient and more profitable. Students will learn about the analysis of production operations in manufacturing and service operations, systems and control and production planning, and be introduced recent methodological developments such as inventory forecasting, PERT/CPM, operations scheduling and queuing theory.

An analysis and understanding, from both the theoretical and application perspective, of the Human Resource Management role in contributing to and determining organizational success. Emphasis will be placed on concepts and themes related to external environmental considerations and to the major human resource functions within both a national and international labor market

The Small Business Development Center helps entrepreneurs start and grow their businesses.
